If a three letter review could ever be written, I’d just simply rely on Deadpool & Wolverine’s marketing: #LFG. I mean, there’s just no way to do the film justice. Shawn Levy, and everyone else involved, has created one of the best Marvel Studios productions in history.Hyperbole? Maybe to those passing through, but for those of us who have been waiting for this, this. is. the big one. Deadpool & Wolverine is the perfect marriage of Fox and Marvel. The kind of film that reminds us of why we love going to the movies. And why we love these characters so much.
To keep things as shhhpoiler free as possible, it’s not even worth diving too far into the plot aside from saying that Wade (Ryan Reynolds) wishes for a higher purpose and destiny comes calling in the form of the Time Variance Authority’s Mr. Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen). But Deadpool can’t reach Marvel Jesus status on his own and seeks out help from the only person who can stand by his side to take down the nefarious Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin): Wolverine (Hugh Jackman). Together they set out on an adventure bigger than either have ever taken before while trying to keep from killing each other along the way.
A written review has no way to suffice the spectacularness that is Deadpool & Wolverine. This is just simply the summer’s biggest and best film, and so far, one of the year’s best as well. Side-splittingly hilarious from start to finish, with more heart than you can shake a Dogpool at, it’s going to be hard to top this one. Makes sense on why not much else is opening for a few weeks. The bottom line is that this is not to be missed and I can’t wait to see it again. For a more in depth review, stay tuned to Big Movie Mouth Off where we’ll be covering the film very soon and I can’t wait to talk about it with my favorite cohorts!
