Anyone who knows me well knows that I love director Danny Boyle. Although he won most people over with Shallow Grave or Trainspotting, I was too young at the time of their releases to be impacted by them. Believe it or not, for me it was A Life Less Ordinary. (Yes, I like that film).
Shortly after I returned to the U.S. I saw 28 Days Later, completely unaware that it was a Danny Boyle film. After the alternate endings at the end of the film, completely blown away by what was just achieved in a “zombie” movie, I pieced it together that it was one of Boyle’s. From then on, I have been obsessed with his work: Millions, Sunshine, Slumdog Millionaire and now 127 Hours.
Back in August I was fortunate to be one of the first people outside of the studio to see footage from 127 Hours. You can read about the experience here. Ever since then I have been extremely excited for it to come out.
James Franco (Spider-Man) plays Aron Ralston, the Colorado hiker who was forced to amputate his own arm after having it pinned between to Utah rocks for 127 hours. Made by the entire Slumdog team, 127 Hours has potential to be amazing. Watch the trailer to see what I mean.
