Something you might not know about me is that Cameron Crowe is one of my all-time favorite writers and directors. Oddly enough, he we also my very first interview when I began my writing career.
Of course, I love his Academy Award-winners Jerry Maguire and Almost Famous – but I also love his critical flips Vanilla Sky and Elizabethtown. From dialogue to mood and tone, his writing very much speaks to me.
Crowe’s new film, We Bought a Zoo, stars Matt Damon as single dad who relocates his family to new home that ends up being a zoo. Literally. Co-starring Thomas Haden Church, Scarlett Johansson, Elle Fanning and Patrick Fugit, the trailer for We Bought a Zoo has the classic Cameron Crowe stamp all over it. His signature is evident through its script, music and tone.
