Both Aaron and I loved Duncan Jones’ last film, Moon – basically Sam Rockwell in a one-man show about a guy stuck working all alone on the moon. Because of Duncan’s past record, his latest venture, Source Code, is looking promising.
Source Code appears to be an intense action-packed mix of Quantum Leap and Groundhog’s Day. Jake Gyllenhaal (Love and Other Drugs) plays a soldier sent on a top secret sci-fi mission that allows him to travel back in time and enter another person’s body aboard a train destined to blow up in a terrorist attack. Arriving only eight minutes prior to the explosion, he hardly has any time at all to piece together the events that will allow him to stop it from ever happening. When the eight minutes run out, the train explodes and he is send back to the future – only to be sent back to try again.
Based on how this trailer looks, Source Code can’t hit theaters quick enough.
Source Code arrives in theaters April 1.
