Considering how excited I am for Super 8, I have no idea why I have not posted the trailer until now.
Anyone who knows me knows that I am a J.J. Abrams fanatic. From LOST and Mission: Impossible III to Cloverfield and Star Trek, I love the dude. So when the first teaser popped up for Super 8 nearly a year ago – which was actually before they had began principal photography – I was ecstatic. The prospect of Abrams working with Steven Spielberg on a monster / alien tale from the perspective of a group of kids is huge!
When the Super 8 Superbowl Spot aired in February, my expectations went through the roof. When I first saw this new full-length trailer almost two weeks ago, my expectation rose another several notches. The trailer below is whimsical. Watching it magically wisps my away to my ’80s childhood. If any movie is going to make me feel like a kid again, it is going to be Super 8.
Although we don’t know if the threat is a monster or an alien, Super 8‘s blend of E.T. and Goonies has me super excited. I hope it does the same for you!
