My first thought while viewing this trailer was, “There was a Lake Placid 2?”
I remember seeing the first Lake Placid, starring Oliver Platt, a giant alligator, and an insane Betty White. The plot was this: Betty White fed the large alligator living in her backyard lake cows. Not sure how she was able to keep purchasing cows for her pet alligator to eat, but there you go. Anyway, in the first movie the cows didn’t satiate the appetite of the scaly beast as was hoped. It started chomping down on poor, defenseless (topless) human beings who were visiting the lake for some summer enjoyment.
Now it seems the alligators have bred and there’s more than one giant reptile stalking people who have come to frolic on the lake shore. Oh, and a few years down the line, the alligator special effects have actually gotten worse, as the humongous reptiles look more like terrifying herky-jerky green blobs running across the screen.
Well, for all of you out there that just can’t get enough Lake Placid in your movie watching diet, this one is coming straight to a DVD near you (surprise, surprise).
